We got assigned by a “client” to make a game according to their game design and concept art.
Environment art and modeling, level design and UI art was my main duties and I focused a lot to asset consistency and the right mood for this game, which is pretty dark and gloomy.
I’ve used Speedtree before but for this project I got to use it for real which was nice and educating experience. I also created a custom water shader with a support of a flow map.
I’m quite satisfied with the gun designs I came up with and the models has quite good topology too.. Too bad nobody will see them because they are just a few pixels wide in the game. Fortunately gun renders can be seen below.
I’m extremely proud of our team and this project. There was a lot of challenges and problem solving, frame rate drops, etc. but we managed to conquer and fix them all in just a few months. And to my eye, it definitely looks like a real game..
